Darlene Pinnock will start as investment director at National Geographic Society, Washington, Nov. 10. She will oversee the society's $225 million defined benefit plan, $450 million capital fund and $75 million foundation, replacing Richard Moreland who left last year to join Cambridge Associates.
Ms. Pinnock was a senior financial analyst at Potomac Electric Power Co. The search for her replacement is pending the company's merger with Baltimore Gas & Electric Co.
W. Denman Zirkle joined Franklin/ Templeton Group, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., as executive vice president of marketing and client relations, a new position. He will be responsible for new institutional business development, as well as overseeing the client service function.
Previously, he was director of marketing at Lynch & Mayer, New York. He has been replaced internally by Thomas E. McGowan.
Michael T. Daley has been named senior vice president of strategy and marketing at CIGNA Retirement & Investment Services. The position is new. Mr. Daley will be responsible for assessing and developing strategic plans for the business. He previously was director of worldwide product management and strategy for the Bankers Trust Co. global services group, where he has not yet been replaced
