MURRAY HILL, N.J. - Prudential Capital Management Group, Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and American General Corp. are the biggest institutional owners of corporate investment grade bonds, according to Capital Access International, which tracks bond holdings. The firms held $28.5 billion, $26.9 billion and $20.1 billion par amount of bonds, respectively, as of June 1.
The biggest holders of corporate high-yield bonds were Fidelity Management & Research, Putnam Investments and American Express Financial Advisors, with $5.9 billion, $5.5 billion, and $4.9 billion held respectively on the same period.
