The National Council on Teacher Retirement, Harry L. DuBrin Jr. and Jack E. Kennedy, have received the EBRI Lillywhite Award for their contributions to teachers' retirement income security.
The Washington-based Employee Benefit Research Institute recognized the council's contributions toward building a system of teachers' pensions over the past 75 years. Messrs. DuBrin and Kennedy were honored for helping to ensure the success of the organization. Mr. DuBrin worked at the New York State Teachers' Retirement System from 1967 to 1984; Mr. Kennedy, who worked with the Public Employees' Retirement Association of Colorado for many years, also served as president of the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems and executive secretary of the Teachers Retirement Council for more than 10 years.
EBRI, the Washington pension reseach organization, has honored seven people and TIAA-CREF and will honor two more individuals in the coming months.
