Prices for membership to trade index, debt and energy markets at the Chicago Board of Trade jumped significantly following the announcement of the exchange's licensing agreement with Dow Jones & Co.
On Sept. 12, a seat in the CBOT's Index Debt & Energy markets traded for a record $143,000, and then $140,000 shortly after. The prices are up from about $65,000 before the CBOT signed the Dow Jones licensing arrangements.
