Phil Schneider has been named managing director of Watson Wyatt Investment Consulting, assuming most of the duties held by Roger Bransford, who was killed in an airplane crash in January.
Also, Brian Hersey, former director of investment management research and principal at Towers Perrin, joined Watson Wyatt to lead its North American research efforts. Mr. Schneider, who headed Watson Wyatt's consulting practice, has been replaced by Brian Murphy, senior consultant.
A Towers Perrin spokesman said an announcement will be made soon regarding a replacement for Mr. Hersey.
Catherine A. Higgins, director of U.S. asset consulting practice at Towers Perrin, is leaving to join Frank Russell as a senior consultant starting Oct. 20. She will be the first member of Frank Russell's consulting practice to work out of its New York office since the 1980s. An announcement on her replacement will be made soon.
Leslie Kirwan was named secretary/ treasurer of the Massachusetts Port Authority Employees Retirement System, Boston, replacing George O'Brien, who retired.
Ms. Kirwan was undersecretary for administration and finance for the state of Massachusetts
