SAN FRANCISCO - Charles Schwab Trust Co. is introducing four equity index mutual funds.
One index fund will track the Standard & Poor's 500. Others are the Schwab International Index fund, which tracks the Morgan Stanley Capital International Europe Australasia Far East Index but caps country weightings at 35%; the Schwab 1000 Index fund, which will buy the top 1,000 U.S. companies based on market capitalization; and a Schwab Small Cap Index fund.
The minimum investment is $50,000. For financial advisers with more than $2 million in all Schwab accounts, the minimum will be waived. All funds will be managed by a team led by Geri Hom, senior portfolio manager.
