Jeffrey P. Davis joined Schooner Asset Management as managing director and principal, a newly created position at the year-old firm.
Mr. Davis had been a senior portfolio manager at State Street Global Advisors, where staff is being added to assume his responsibilities.
Stella Yiu was named CIO of global emerging markets for HSBC Asset Management.
Ms. Yiu had been a director and senior fund manager with HSBC in Hong Kong.
For the past year, Paul Guidone, chief executive of the money management firm, headed the firm's global emerging markets team.
Donald J. Luscher was named executive director of the Barberton Community Foundation, a new position.
He starts next week at the new $75 million fund, which will be operating by May 1 and already has hired six managers.
Mr. Luscher comes from the $30 million Chautauqua Region Community Foundation in Jamestown, N.Y., where he has yet to be replaced. Florence Cass, director of communications, will be taking over his duties in the interim.
Gary R. Dhein joined Chicago Asset Management as vice president and senior portfolio manager, a new position.
Mr. Dhein will oversee fixed-income portfolios and join Chicago Asset's investment strategy group.
He comes from Bank of America, where he was replaced internally as portfolio manager by Timothy J. Allen
