The quality of chief executive and chief financial officer investor relations is important to the buy/sell decision, according to a survey of money managers conducted by DeMarche Associates, Kansas City, Mo.
Eighty-seven percent of money managers surveyed "routinely assess a company's top management as part of their investment process," according to DeMarche.
In addition, 93% of money managers surveyed prefer talking directly to the CEO or CFO when getting company information.
Companies cited by money managers as best managed in the country included larger companies such as General Electric Co., Coca-Cola Co., Microsoft Corp., Intel Corp. and Johnson & Johnson.
Also cited were smaller companies such as Casey's General Stores, Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., and Wachovia Corp.
