MetLife Realty Group and Metric Realty will combine operations into one real estate investment management firm in early 1997. The consolidated company, which has not yet been named, will have nearly $3 billion in assets.
Robert Fiddaman, former president and chief executive officer of Metric, will become chairman and work out of the new firm's San Francisco office. Thomas P. Lydon Jr., former president and CEO of MetLife Realty, will be the president and CEO in its White Plains, N.Y., headquarters.
Both companies are owned by SSRM Holdings Inc., which also owns State Street Research and Management. SSRM is a subsidiary of the Metropolitan Life Insurance.
