Alameda County Employees' Retirement System, Oakland, Calif., hired Rainier Investment Management to manage $100 million in large-cap growth equities. The board of trustees hired Rainier to increase the $2 billion fund's large-cap equities exposure, said Chuck Conrad, general manager. The hiring fills the gap left nine months ago when the previous large-cap growth manager was terminated. Mr. Conrad declined to name the terminated firm. Watson Wyatt assisted
