Money managers think the outcome of the presidential election will not have any effect on the economy or the financial markets, according to a survey by Smith Barney Consulting Group. In a quarterly survey of 73 independent money managers, 63% said the election will not affect the economy and 73% said it won't affect the stock market. In the same survey, 48% of managers said inflation is likely to rise by year end; 47% said it will stay at the same level. Additionally, 49% said the dollar will be higher by year end; 25% said it will stay the same.
