The $154 million Charlotte (N.C.) Firefighters' Retirement System has moved almost all of its internally managed assets to an outside manager so that Robb Hubbs, the fund's administrator, can focus more on overall portfolio management. The fund moved $14 million in internally managed short-duration fixed income to its domestic core manager, TradeStreet Investment Associates. TradeStreet, which also manages 22.5% of the fund's growth equity assets, now will manage about 22.5% of the fund's fixed-income assets, Mr. Hubbs said. About 1.5% of the internally managed assets remain in a cash portfolio. No staff jobs were cut, he added.
