The $7.4 billion San Francisco City and County Employees' Retirement System is searching for a quantitative, large-cap value index manager. The allocation to the manager, over time, will exceed $250 million, said Carl Wilberg, portfolio manager for equities.
Candidates must maintain a portfolio of at least 100 securities and have at least $750 million under management.
Responses to the RFP should be sent by July 26 to Mr. Wilberg with copies to Eleanor Pott at Asset Strategy Consulting, the fund's consultant. Where the money to be allocated will come from hasn't been decided. No existing manager will be dropped.
The board is expected to pick finalists Aug. 27, with final selection slated for late September.
