PBGC officials today said the agency has clarified and simplified regulations and has reduced the volume of regulations by 20%. The reduction is part of President Clinton's regulatory reinvention initiative; many of the regulations eliminated were outdated, including old insurance premiums. The remaining regulations will be renumbered in the 4000s and will be in Chapter XL instead of Chapter XXVI of Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations. They are expected to appear in the July 1 Federal Register.
