Trustees for the $5.2 billion Illinois State Board of Investment, Chicago, hired Walter Scott & Partners to manage $80 million in international equities, said CIO Jane Patterson. Pension Consulting Alliance assisted. The board also committed $7.5 million to an early-stage venture capital fund managed by InterWest Partners. The selections are pending final contract approval, Ms. Patterson said.
Trustees did not make a decision on possibly moving to active managers a $170 million passive non-U.S. equity swap with Merrill Lynch, which expires in September, Ms. Patterson said.
