The $60 million Hampshire County Retirement System, Northhampton, Mass., hired John Hancock to run $6 million in small-cap equities. The fund terminated Wellington, which ran a midcap stock portfolio.
``It was more an asset class issue than a manager issue,'' said Joseph O'Reilly, the fund's consultant at Dahab Associates.
The fund also moved $3 million into international equities with incumbent manager Bank of Ireland; assets came from cash. The firm now runs a total of $7 million.
