Aronson + Partners plans to launch a long-short strategy based on its existing active large-cap value equity style management and its expertise in trading execution, said Theodore R. Aronson, partner.
``It's like what we do now,'' he said of the new strategy. ``It's just flipping the signs, plus or minus.''
The firm hopes to unveil the strategy in about a month. It will buy and sell short stocks, trying to beat the Treasury bill rate as its benchmark. The firm now runs $650 million in large-cap value equities and $200 million in small- and midcap value equities.
