The $3 billion Orange County Employees Retirement System, Santa Ana, Calif., is expected to do an RFI or RFP for a general pension consultant later this year. Incumbent Callan Associates is expected to compete. Trustees have decided to rebid the contract every five years. No dates have been set as yet for the expected search.
Also, the fund is expected later this month to begin a search for an executive search firm to replace Mary-Jean Hackwood, who was terminated in February as administrator. Once a search firm is hired, a nationwide search is expected for an administrator. Terry Slattery, the fund's acting administrator, is expected to be a candidate.
