The $2.4 billion Detroit General Retirement System hired Citibank Global for an emerging markets portfolio that will eventually total $30 million. The fund also increased by about $20 million its allocation to Bank of Ireland, which manages a global equities portfolio for the fund that now will total about $75 million. In addition, the pension fund increased by about $20 million to a total of about $90 million its allocation to Strategic Fixed Income, which manages global bonds for the fund.
New England Pension Consultants assisted with the emerging markets search, said Joe Glanton, the fund's assistant administrative supervisor.
