The $2.4 billion Detroit General Retirement System hired Citibank Global for an emerging markets portfolio that will eventually total $30 million. The fund also increased by about $20 million its allocation to Bank of Ireland, which manages a global equities portfolio for the fund that now will total about $75 million. In addition, the pension fund increased by about $20 million to a total of about $90 million its allocation to Strategic Fixed Income, which manages global bonds for the fund.
New England Pension Consultants assisted with the emerging markets search, said Joe Glanton, assistant administrative supervisor.
