Standard & Poor's has started offering a portfolio monitoring service to help fund sponsors and fiduciaries determine if assets are being managed in line with stated objectives and investment policies.
Sanford Bragg, S&P managing director, said the service is targeted at large mutual funds, insurance companies and banks, but could be helpful to pension funds as well. He said the service provides fund sponsors with independent verification whether funds are following established policies including their degree of credit risk, exposure to derivatives, security holdings and other factors.
