David L. Donabedian, formerly chief economist, vice president and senior portfolio manager at Mercantile Safe Deposit & Trust, joined Rothschild/Pell Rudman as a senior vice president and senior portfolio manager. He is taking over some of the accounts of James Knittle, executive vice president, who is going into ``semi-retirement'' but will remain a consultant and adviser to the firm.
Mr. Donabedian will help the firm add to its international investment activities. Rothschild/Pell, a subsidiary of United Asset Management, runs $2.8 billion in midcap growth stocks and convertibles for institutions and high net worth individuals. At Mercantile Bank, he has not yet been replaced.
