A story in the April 17 At Deadline column incorrectly reported Buck Consultants Inc., New York, was dismissed as actuary for the Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund of New Jersey, Trenton.
Instead, fund trustees gave Buck a vote of no confidence; they do not have legal authority to hire and fire their actuary.
Carolee Martin, a spokeswoman for Buck, said a letter to William E. Geigerich, Buck president and chief executive, from New Jersey Treasurer Brian W. Clymer expressed "continued confidence in your firm and in the state's consulting team headed by Bob Baus."
