Fidelity Investments has expanded by 65% its no-load mutual funds offered without transaction fees through its FundsNetwork program.
Fidelity officials say the enhancement will give the firm 78 more funds than are now available through Schwab's OneSource program for retail investors. Fidelity's service, also a one-stop shopping service for retail investors, mirrors the OneSource program.
Effective last month, some 327 no-load mutual funds from 32 fund families were being offered without a transaction fee through the FundsNetwork program.
Before the change, only 198 funds from 10 fund families were offered without loads or transaction fees.
The firm also will provide additional information to help investors select and evaluate investment opportunities.
Among the new fund families are Benham, Blanchard, Evergreen, Founders, Montgomery United Services and Yacktman. Soon to join are Bramwell, Dreman and Kaufmann.
