Frank Russell Co., London, and The WM Co., Edinburgh, have teamed up to provide performance measurement services for Swiss pension funds and money managers.
A series of joint universes covering both balanced and specialist portfolios will be available in late April or early May.
Both Russell and WM already have offered measurement products in Switzerland, but decided they would be better off working together in the joint venture, said Stewart Crawford, managing director of WM.
Russell will provide its performance analytics software, which will be combined with WM's quality control service, which examines how numbers are calculated and analyzes them.
InterSec Research Corp., Greenwich, Conn., dominates the 355 billion Swiss franc ($250 billion) Swiss pension market after being awarded the franchise on performance measurement by the Swiss Bankers Association three years ago.
Chris Nowakowski, InterSec's president, said he welcomes the competition.
