David Fann is joining VSS Capital Partners as head of investor relations and as a senior managing director.
Fann will oversee investor relations and fundraising relying on his global relationships and experience in private equity transactions and private market strategies, according to a news release.
Fann will start in the role Sept. 3 and will report to Jeffrey Stevenson, managing partner at VSS, a spokesperson confirmed to Pensions & Investments.
“David’s private markets experience and institutional investor network will be an invaluable asset to VSS as we look to capitalize on next market opportunities,” said Patrick Turner, managing director at VSS, in the news release.
Fann replaces Lacey Mehran who joined Haven Capital Partners as a partner and head of capital partnership earlier this year, according to the firm’s website.
Fann was a vice chairman at Apogem Capital. Apogem did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Previously, Fann was a partner and vice chairman at Aksia, a position created for him following the consultant’s acquisition of TorreyCove Capital Partners. Fann had previously been president and CEO of TorreyCove.
VSS is a private investment firm focused on the healthcare, education and business services industries, and the current AUM is $960 million. VSS has managed $4 billion in committed capital across 8 funds and has completed 99 platform investments and over 600 add-on acquisitions.
