Michael Leitner joined alternatives money manager Stonepeak as a senior managing director.
Based in New York, Mr. Leitner will "help lead the continued buildout of Stonepeak's credit investing capabilities," said a news release Wednesday.
Mr. Leitner’s appointment is “an expansion of the team” and he reports to Jack Howell and Luke Taylor, both senior managing directors and co-chief operating officers, a spokeswoman said in an email.
Mr. Leitner most recently was co-head of BlackRock's direct lending and special situations investment practice. A BlackRock spokeswoman in an email declined to comment on Mr. Leitner's departure from the firm or his successor.
Stonepeak, which specializes in infrastructure and real assets, has about $55.7 billion in assets under management.
