Margaret McKnight joined StepStone Group's real estate group as a partner focusing on its consulting, secondaries and co-investment businesses, a StepStone spokesman said in an email.
It is a new position, the spokesman said.
Ms. McKnight was the co-CIO and head of the Americas for Carlyle Group's metropolitan real estate investment management division until 2019. Sarah Schwarzschild, co-fund head of Carlyle's metropolitan real estate, assumed Ms. McKnight's responsibilities as co-head of Americas, according to sources familiar the situation. Carlyle Group executives declined to comment.
