Vikram Bhandari has been named as head and chief investment officer of Schroders Capital Solutions, joining from BlackRock, according to a news release.
Schroders Capital is the £79 billion ($97.3 billion) private markets business of Schroders, which had £773.7 billion of assets under management as of June 30.
In the newly created role, Bhandari will be based in London. He will be expected to help drive business growth and lead Schroders Capital’s private markets solutions strategy and execution.
“We help our clients build customized exposures across the private markets spectrum,” said Ingo Heinen, global head of business development and product at Schroders Capital, in the news release.
“This capability epitomizes our client centricity and is a key part of our differentiated pan-private markets solutions offering. Vikram's leadership will allow us to further leverage the capabilities at Schroders Capital Solutions and deliver even more to our growing global client base,” he said.
Prior to joining Schroders Capital, Bhandari worked at asset management firm BlackRock as a senior portfolio manager. BlackRock did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding a replacement for Bhandari.
