Charles Baillie will join Quantum Energy Partners in September as co-president, a spokesman said.
Mr. Baillie will serve alongside Ajay Khurana, a managing partner and head of Quantum's credit and structured capital strategies, who effective immediately, has been promoted to co-president. They replace Quantum's former president, Dheeraj Verma, who left the firm earlier this year.
Messrs. Khurana and Baillie report to firm founder and CEO Wil VanLoh, who leads the firm's investment strategy and capital allocation processes.
Quantum declined to provide further details.
Mr. Baillie will be retiring from Goldman Sachs Asset Management at the end of April after 29 years with the firm, where he is a partner and leads Goldman Sachs Asset Management's acquisition strategy.
In a March 11 memo to staff, Julian C. Salisbury and Luke A. Sarsfield, global co-heads of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, said that throughout his "distinguished service at the firm, Charles has helped grow our franchise and augment the capabilities of our entire asset management business."
The memo does not say and a Goldman Sachs spokeswoman declined to comment on whether Mr. Baillie has been replaced and who is replacing him.
