Chris Briant joined PGIM as the head of the institutional relationship group for Australia and New Zealand, the firm said in a statement Feb. 1.
Briant joined the firm in January and acts as a strategic adviser to PGIM's institutional investor clients in Australia and New Zealand. He reports to Cameron Lochhead, managing director and global head of the institutional relationship group based in New York. PGIM is the investment management arm of Prudential Financial.
Briant will play a strategic role in growing the firm's institutional investor base in the region and develop PGIM's suite of affiliate strategies and solutions, Lochhead said in the statement.
PGIM had more than $1.2 trillion in assets under management as of Sept. 30 and started building its presence in Australia in 2011 where it manages traditional and alternative asset classes including Australian real estate equity and debt strategies and debt financing to domestic corporations.
Briant was most recently a managing director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, which he left in July 2022. He has also had senior roles at Russell Investments and BNP Paribas.
