Rakesh "Rick" Jain was named partner and global head of private debt at alternative money manager Pantheon Group.
Based in New York, Mr. Jain will report to Dennis McCrary, partner in Pantheon's global co-investment team, spokeswoman Amanda McCrystal said. The position is new, she added.
Pantheon formed a dedicated practice dedicated to its $1.5 billion in private debt investments in 2018 and the firm expects to hire additional resources for the practice in New York and London, the news release said.
Mr. Jain was previously managing director and member of the investment committee at private credit firm Star Mountain Capital. Officials at that firm could not be immediately reached to provide further information.
Pantheon had $47 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
