Marc Pinto was named global head of private credit for Moody’s Ratings.
In the role, Pinto will lead Moody’s research and rating initiatives on private credit. Pinto has worked at Moody’s for over a decade and held various senior roles. He will continue to co-head the global insurance team, according to a news release.
“By leveraging his extensive industry and leadership experience, Marc will play a critical role in further expanding our robust analytical capabilities, enhancing our market experience and driving our private credit strategy forward,” said Michael West, president of Moody’s Ratings in the release.
Pinto, who is New York-based, will report to Simon Harris, global head of financial institutions, according to a spokesperson for the firm. Pinto begins in the role effective today.
Pinto is Moody’s second head of private credit replacing Ana Arsov, who recently departed the firm, the spokesperson said. In a LinkedIn post, Arsov wrote that her upcoming role will be "as a chief investment officer of my family office in Greenwich.”
As part of the role, Pinto will also focus on growth areas in the private credit industry including fund finance, private asset-backed securities and privately placed investment-grade corporate assets.
Prior to Moody’s, Pinto held roles at Merrill Lynch, Keefe Bruyette & Woods (now Stifel) and Susquehanna International.
