Jeff Hammer and Paul Sanabria were named managing directors on the private funds advisory team at investment bank Moelis & Co.
Moelis is expanding its secondaries advisory and sponsor-led capital solutions businesses, according to a news release.
“We are aggressively building one of the market’s leading platforms in private capital advisory, and this is another important step in that direction,” said Navid Mahmoodzadegan, co-founder and co-president of Moelis, in the news release. “Jeff and Paul’s decision to join Moelis underscores our ambition to lead in the secondaries advisory space by delivering high-impact advice where and when clients need it most.”
Hammer and Sanabria will begin in May and work with Matt Wesley, global head of private funds advisory, who will join Moelis in June, a spokesperson confirmed. Wesley, whose role was announced in February, was global head of private capital advisory at Jefferies Group. He steps into the Moelis role following Rodney Reid’s departure.
Hammer and Sanabria, who will be based in New York and Boston, respectively, were previously global co-heads of Manulife Investment Management's general partner-led secondaries unit.
At Manulife, Jeff Jack and Peter O’Hanlon, senior directors on the secondaries team, now lead the team and continue to execute strategic secondaries transactions for Manulife Strategic Secondaries Fund, a spokesperson confirmed.
