Kenny Lam was named chief investment officer and head of transactions for Asia-Pacific real estate at Manulife Investment Management, the firm said in a statement on Oct. 9.
Lam's role was made effective on Oct. 4 in Hong Kong. He is responsible for expanding the firm's presence in the region and identifying new real estate investment opportunities. The role is newly created, a spokesperson said.
Manulife IM has C$845 billion ($626.6 billion) in assets under management, and its real estate platform offers core, core-plus and value-added strategies across 73 million square feet of office, industrial, retail and multifamily assets in Canada, the U.S. and Asia-Pacific.
Lam was CIO for strategic investments at Hong Kong-based Link Real Estate Investment Trust. Before that he was the head of Asia real estate investments at Manulife IM from 2017 to 2022.
