Alan Jones was named senior managing director at alternative money manager Intermediate Capital Group, a spokesman said.
Mr. Jones began the newly created New York-based position on Monday and is responsible for building the alternative money manager's North American business. He reports to ICG CEO Benoit Durteste.
Mr. Jones was previously vice chairman, private credit and equity at Morgan Stanley Investment Management.
Morgan Stanley spokeswoman Lauren Bellmare declined to comment.
ICG has €38.6 billion ($42.6 billion) in assets under management.
