Jianming Zou joined VMS Group, a Hong Kong-based private markets and hedge fund investment boutique, as head of private equity.
The position is new, a spokeswoman for the firm said.
VMS reported assets under management of $4.2 billion as of Sept. 30, and has invested more than $200 million alongside its clients, according to a company news release.
Mr. Zou joined VMS from New Horizon Capital, a Beijing-based private equity firm, where he was a partner.
A spokesman for New Horizon couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
