Jason Schechter joined Hildene Capital Management as its new head of capital markets on Jan. 10, according to a Jan. 16 news release.
The position is new, and Schechter will be based in Stamford, Conn., a spokesperson said in an email. The firm does not have "details to share on specifics on his role at this time," the spokesperson added.
Schechter will report to co-CIOs Dushyant Mehra and Brett Jefferson, who also serves as president of Hildene.
Schechter has 25 years of experience in collateralized loan obligation origination. He most recently was global head of CLO origination and U.S. CLO trading at Jefferies Group. Officials at Jefferies could not be immediately reached for more information. Schechter also held similar roles as UBS and Lehman Brothers.
Schechter's "experience across structured products will strengthen our dynamic investment approach and build upon our established track record," Jefferson said in the news release. "We're confident his structuring and origination expertise will serve as a valuable resource for the firm."
Hildene Capital had $14.7 billion in assets under management as of Nov. 30.
