Ahmad Atwan was named managing director, infrastructure team, at alternative money manager H.I.G. Capital.
It is a new position. Mr. Atwan will be responsible for origination, transaction structuring, financing and execution of post-closing infrastructure strategies, according to a news release Thursday.
It is H.I.G. Capital's latest move to expand its infrastructure team; in September, the manager named Andrew Liau co-head of the infrastructure team based in London.
Mr. Atwan was managing director at Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners. Morgan Stanley spokeswoman Lauren Bellmare declined to comment.
H.I.G. Capital has $40 billion in equity capital under management.
Ed Pallesen, managing director and co-head of H.I.G.'s infrastructure team, could not be immediately reached for further information.
