Ken Binick has been named managing director and head of execution on the direct equity team at private markets manager Hamilton Lane, effective Sept. 5.
It is a new position, spokeswoman Kate McGann confirmed in an email.
Mr. Binick will report to Andrew Schardt, vice chairman, head of investment strategy and head of direct equity, said a news release Thursday.
Mr. Binick will be based in both the firm's Conshohocken, Pa., headquarters and at its New York office, Ms. McGann added.
Mr. Binick most recently was co-head of the co-investment business at Portfolio Advisors. On June 30, FS Investments and Portfolio Advisors closed a deal to combine the two firms. A spokeswoman for FS Investments said in an email she could not confirm when Mr. Binick left Portfolio Advisors but did confirm that in July 2022 Benjamin Hur was promoted to join Adam Clemens as co-head of the co-investment equity business at Portfolio Advisors.
As of March 31, Hamilton Lane had about $857 billion in assets under management and supervision, comprising $112 billion in discretionary assets and about $745 billion in non-discretionary assets.
