Shawn Mathew has joined GoldenTree Asset Management as partner and head of corporate strategy, a newly created role.
Mathew is based in Dallas and reports to Kathy Sutherland, GoldenTree's CEO, said a Nov. 27 news release.
Steve Tananbaum, GoldenTree's founder, managing partner and chief investment officer, noted in the release that Mathew will "help drive GoldenTree's strategic growth and corporate initiatives in close coordination with our executive committee."
Mathew was formerly at Sixth Street, where he was a managing director responsible for corporate strategy, financial planning and corporate accounting.
Sixth Street could not be immediately reached for further details.
GoldenTree has more than $51 billion in assets under management.
