Per Franzen was named as incoming CEO and managing partner at Swedish private equity firm EQT.
Franzen will start in the role on May 27, according to a news release. Christian Sinding will remain as CEO until that point. Following the changeover, Sinding will become an institutional partner and council chair at EQT.
EQT is headquartered in Stockholm, but Franzen will remain in London for the role, Bloomberg reported.
According to the news release, EQT is targeting a €100 billion ($103.2 billion) fundraising cycle and wants to execute on initiatives including the launch of additional investment strategies, expanded distribution channels, and the acceleration of brand-building efforts.
“I am truly passionate about the firm, having spent most of my career here, and I am deeply committed to building on the fantastic global platform we have established under Christian’s leadership,” Franzen said in the news release.
Franzen is deputy managing partner and head of private capital for Europe and North America at EQT. He most recently led the €22 billion raise of EQT X, which was the largest private equity fund closed globally in 2024. EQT had €269 billion in total assets under management as of 31 Dec.
EQT has been contacted for comment regarding who will fill Franzen's current position.
