Ronald E. Barin was named managing director and head of global strategy at alternative money manager Fasanara Capital.
It is a new position. Based in New York, Mr. Barin is the London-based manager's first U.S.-based employee, he said in an email.
Mr. Barin, who joined the firm May 18, is responsible for investment management, new product development, risk management, and will serve as a liaison for institutional investors, a news release from the firm said. He reports to Francesco Filia, CEO and executive director.
Until May, Mr. Barin had served as a senior adviser to investment consultant River & Mercantile Solutions since February 2019. In May 2018, Mr. Barin left his position as vice president and chief investment officer at Alcoa Corp., Pittsburgh.
