CVC Capital Partners closed its latest buyout fund, CVC Capital Partners IX, at €26 billion ($29.2 billion), above its target of €25 billion, a news release said Thursday.
The fund, which CVC launched in January, invests in Europe and in the U.S.
According to private markets data company Preqin, it was the largest global buyout fund close of all time. CVC launched the fund in January.
Among investors was the $72.7 billion Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association, Pasadena, and the $10.3 billion Rhode Island Employees' Retirement System, Providence.
Predecessor fund CVC Capital Partners VIII closed in 2020 and raised €22.3 billion.
