Jason Breaux was named head of private credit at alternative credit firm Crescent Capital Group.
Breaux will lead the firm’s private credit business and focus on platform growth and expanding investment capabilities, according to a news release.
Breaux, who joined Crescent in 2000, reports to Christopher Wright, president of the firm. Wright was the previous head of private credit, a spokesperson confirmed.
“Jason’s deep expertise in credit, combined with a clear vision for the future, ensures that Crescent remains well-positioned at this pivotal moment for both our firm and the rapidly expanding private credit market," said Mark Attanasio and Jean-Marc Chapus, co-founders and managing partners, in the news release.
Breaux will also continue as CEO of Crescent Capital BDC, a role he has held since 2015, and as board chair of the firm’s continuously offered nontraded BDC Crescent Private Credit Income Corp., a role he has held since 2023.
Breaux is based in Los Angeles and started in the news role during the first quarter.
Crescent had about $46 billion of assets under management as of March 31, of which about 75% is in private credit.
