Khalid Husain has joined real assets manager Cohen & Steers as a senior vice president, in the new position of head of ESG, according to a news release.
Mr. Husain is chairman of Cohen & Steers’ ESG Steering Committee and oversees the firm’s environmental, social and governance investment framework and integration process, said a Cohen & Steers spokesman in an email. While the committee with Mr. Husain at the helm helps to integrate ESG factors across all of Cohen & Steer’s investment strategies, it does not make or approve specific investment decisions, he said.
Mr. Husain had been at Moody’s Investors Service, where he was a vice president leading the company’s efforts to integrate ESG data and metrics into credit analysis and research.
The firm had $99.5 billion in assets under management as of July 31.
