Julia Kahr joined global private equity firm Cinven as a partner and head of North America, spokesman Alexander Wolfsohn said in an email.
Ms. Kahr will be based in New York and lead Cinven's North America operations. She replaces Alex Leslie, partner, who will return to London in September after previously moving to New York six years ago to establish Cinven's business in North America. Cinven's U.S. team has invested in number of companies in the health-care and technology, media and telecommunications sectors as well as supported U.S. acquisitions for several of Cinven's European portfolios.
Ms. Kahr was a senior managing director at Blackstone and led investments in the health-care and industrials sectors. Anushka Sunder currently leads health-care investments, and Seth Meisel now leads industrials investments for Blackstone's private equity business, said Matthew Anderson, a Blackstone spokesman. Both are senior managing directors.
