Capstone Investment Advisors tapped Alain Bordoni, the firm's chief operating officer, Asia to head its newly opened office in Hong Kong.
In a news release Wednesday, the New York-based manager of $8.9 billion of derivatives-focused alternative assets, said Mr. Bordoni will support the firm's growth in the region as Capstone moves to "build out its investment team in Hong Kong and throughout Asia" over the next several years.
Paul Britton, founder and CEO of Capstone, in the news release said: "We believe that Asia will be as important to our business as North America and Europe" over the coming decade.
The firm's website shows it managing 83% of its assets for North America-based clients, and the remaining 17% for clients in EMEA and the Asia-Pacific region.
Jonathan Sorrell, Capstone's president, in the news release called the opening of the firm's Hong Kong office "the first step of a long-term strategy that will see us develop our investment presence in the region."
According to the news release, Capstone's office, in the Central district of Hong Kong, has eight employees, "including investment and infrastructure teams."
