Rebecca Patterson was named senior investor at Bridgewater Associates.
Ms. Patterson, formerly chief investment officer at private wealth manager Bessemer Trust, will function as a senior member of Bridgewater's investment research team.
She "will join the team's senior leadership group and help to identify and explore areas of investment research across geographies and asset classes," according to a Bridgewater news release.
The investment team is led by co-CIOs Ray Dalio, Bridgewater's founder, Greg Jensen and Bob Prince.
Bridgewater manages $160 billion, about $140 billion of which is in hedge funds.
