Colleen Sullivan will join alternative money manager Brevan Howard Asset Management to lead its private equity and venture capital investment activities in cryptocurrencies and digital assets.
She will also become chairwoman of the investment committee overseeing a new strategy focusing on the asset class, a news release said Monday.
The release also announced the formation of a division called BH Digital overseeing the management of cryptocurrency and digital assets.
A spokesman for Brevan Howard would not provide further information on Ms. Sullivan's title or to whom she is reporting.
Ms. Sullivan is CEO and co-founder of CMT Digital, which focuses on crypto asset trading and blockchain technology investments.
As of June 30, Brevan Howard Asset Management had $16 billion in assets under management.
